For Sale: Doctor Rock
(Doc) came to Abernathy Farm on Valentines 2002. He has been a great trail mount, a hunter and dabbled in dressage since his arrival. He is a bay Appaloosa with frosting and stands 15.2 hands tall.
See more photos of Doc here.

Moonshine
is a farm favorite. He is our best trail horse and is gaited for that "Cadillac ride". He has been trail riding in NC, SC, and TN. He is also used for pony parties because of his wonderful temperament. Moonshine is a palomino Rocky Mountain Horse and he measures 14.2 but, is stocky enough to carry larger riders with ease.

Ruby
was the farm's first mare and she came here as a long yearling in 2004. She was trained under saddle by Abernathy Farm with the guidance of my friend Jenny O'Handly. She is a blood bay Quarab. Her sire the Quarter Horse stallion, Julie's Conclusion, stood at stud in the NC State Breeding Program for several years. Ruby was his second foal to hit the ground.
Rick-O-Shay's Echo

(Ricky) grew up cutting cattle in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. He made his trek to NC and finally came to reside at Abernathy Farm in 2006. He has a great handle, is gaited, and is a blast to ride. He has a canter very similar to a "big lick walker" but he requires no special shoeing to perform it. Ricky is a sorrel, Missouri Fox Trotter and he stands 15.1 hands. He is currently the stockiest of all the horses on Abernathy Farm and can carry any sized rider. He is also the most personable and loves to make new friends everywhere he goes.
Blonde Bombshell

(Shelly) is a 12.1 hand, beautiful Palomino pony. She was trained under saddle at Abernathy Farm. She is used for Pony Parties and lessons. She loves teaching beginner children how to ride.
Apache

(Patch) is a sorrel pinto, half mustang, gelding. He is 15 years old and 14.1 hands tall. He is stocky and is an easy keeper. Patch is a great trail horse. He is owned by Raegan Martin. He has been boarded at Abernathy Farm since August 2009.
Cody

is a registered 5 year old Palomino, Breeding Stock Paint, Gelding. He is 15.1 hands tall and is owned by Emily Vickers. He has been boarded at Abernathy Farm since March 2010.
Hurricane Caroline

(Caroline) is a registered Sorrel, Tennesse Walking Horse, Mare. She is 14.2 hands tall and is owned by Lynn Vickers. She has been boarded at Abernathy Farm since March 2010.
Black and Jack

Black and Jack adopted me in the spring of 2007. Ricky actually found them and figured he could lick them clean much better than they could on their own. That's how I found them, hiding from Ricky's giant nose in the rafters of the wood barn. They have been on mouse patrol ever since.
