Boarding
Abernathy Farm consists of 16 total acres. We have several half acre dry lots and 2 large pastures that are reseeded annually to ensure the appropriate nutrition for your horse. Lisa Abernathy resides on site and her home overlooks all the pastures and dry lots. Abernathy Farm also offers farrier, vet, and dental scheduling as a convenience to our boarders.
Abernathy Farm uses small group turnout. This is to ensure horses are kept in herds that have similar personalities and nutritional needs. You don't have to worry about your horse not getting his grain or eating everyone else's. This also keeps fighting between herd mates to a minimum.

-
Feed Stalls to individually feed up to 20 horses at a time. This allows the horses to eat in privacy so you will not have to worry if your horse is a timid or anxious eater.
-
Abernathy Farm designed the feed stalls so the dividers can be removed and turned into a 10x12 or an extra roomy 15x12 stall if needed for injury or illness. Stalls are also matted.
-
Horses are given access to the stalls at all times. They also provide shelter from the heat or rain.

Feed stalls are divided so horses can not see each other while eating, which helps relieve anxiety at feeding time. |
Enclosed enough to provide protection from, sun, wind, or rain. Yet still open and airy to provide plenty of ventilation. The white roof also helps to reflect heat in the summer. |
